Well, I actually strongly suggest against using cuticle remover. The fact is, your cuticles are what protect your nails from bacteria and infection. By cutting them or removing them, you're weakening that protection and making it easier for your nails to get infected, which results as a fungus. Because cuticles act as protectant, they also help your nails grow strong and healthy. So basically, cutting or removing your cuticles is a really bad idea.
As for cuticle oil, I'm a big fan of just using olive oil instead of going out to buy cuticle oil. The purpose of cuticle oil is to moisturize your cuticles and leave them strong and healthy. Olive oil serves the same purpose and using it means I don't have to go out and spend money on a small tube that I'll use up very quickly. I simply massage the olive oil into my cuticles, let it sit for a few moments, then wash my hands or wipe off my nail with nail polish remover.
