Are henna tattoos waterproof?

Don't wash off the henna once itsndried. let it fall off naturally and when a little is left just scrape it off. after that put a little mustard oil on your hands and rub it in. the heat generated adds a deeper colour. I do this every year for the hindu festival of diwali.
