generally brand name products are better for your "face" makeup ( foundation, blush, concealer, etc.) but some drugstore makeup works just as well and sometimes even better than the more expensive brand name

And high end products can be more specialized and better for specific skin types like dryness, anti ageing etc

I definitely always go high end for liquid foundation - only because I've never found a cheap one that's good, apart from Natio which is sort of mid-price range. Wouldn't buy liquid or waterline eyeliner thats toooo cheap purely for the fact that it goes on the most sensitive part of your face and you don't want the cheapest ingredients there. But for everything else, there's not too much difference I think.

It really depends. I won't buy anything from a company thAt is even accused of testing on animals. Ingredients also matter a bit. If I can find a great drugstore product, I'll choose that.

You just need to do a little bit of research and that's it. Gems in drugstores are not that hard to come by like Revlon lip products, brushes and gel liners. But I still think high end makeup still has superior quality and it is way more neat. However if you already have smooth skin to start with it probably doesn't hurt you to use cheaper substitutes.

I just try to find anything affordable with a good quality. sometimes it's so harmful when I find a really good product but then I introduce it in here and no one knows it :/ (for example Bianka eyeshadow palettes)

I have received compliments on my make up while working from both older and younger woman, and I rarely use "high end" make up, I do like to buy it but I am not a MUA and I don't consider my self to be good with make up really, but from receiving compliments on my make up and it being from drugstore, I don't think that it matters, it matters how you apply it.

Personally, i dont think so. I've used brands like lancome, channel, urban decay, etc. and ive also used tons of drug store products which i think work just as well as other more high end products. However, if you're looking for something like an eyelash enhancing product or something to fix a severe acne problem, i would definetly go with a more high end product

I personally think that brand names don't matter, theres a lot of makeup brands out there and sometimes you get a better color pay off or better quality makeup then a high end brand. It just depends on what works best for you:)

I don't think the name matters but have found that what you pay for is what you get I stick to high end cos I know I'm getting top quality but of course I don't love all the products that are expensive as some just don't work for me. I have some drugstore products which I wouldn't change for anything e.g. I tried to love NARS Laguna but I just felt like I smeared mud on my face just didn't work for me where as Bourjois bronzer I absolutely adore and it's like half a price of the Laguna. I think what matters is what works for you not the name.

Some MAC products are terrible, yet some elf products are raved about - just goes to show it's not about the name or price at all :)

i don't think it matters if its branded as long as it works for you then that's all that really matters

To me, no. Quality does, though. Certain brands have a rep for quality, of course.

No try essencess it's cheap and it works

Brand names matter quite a lot to me. Not that I want to 'show off' what brands I have but I want to be safe. Honestly, I save quite a while to own some of my high-end makeup products but I think it's worth it. I don't buy no name makeup products but I do buy drugstore makeup products A LOT because they work well or at least get the job done! For things that we use on regular basis such as foundation, I will try to get drugstore's but I recently got a high-end foundation that I really love and think it's the best I've used so far so it depends how good the product works. Because I believe nobody would want to buy a lousy pigmented eyeshadow just for the famous brand name right?!

It depends on where the product is going: foundation, primer & concealer I use brand names. Everything else I use drug store brands

To me, brand names don't matter. I use whatever works on me, looks good on me and won't irritate my skin. I'm not that picky that i have to buy a certain brand all the time, i like trying different brands.

doesn't matter the name, price, etc. you can use any product for anything (like eyeshadow for highlight or lip liner for eyebrows). personally i love nyx for my eyebrows, mac for my bases, maybelline for my lipsticks and liquid eyeliners, and urban decay for my eyeshadows. depends on the person, the product, and the way you use it!

The names themselves don't matter, but I've found from past experience that brand names do work better. You get what you pay for

I've found that no matter if it's a good brand, like Clinique - their products are so toxic! Even The Body Shop products contain a lot of chemicals(they've been bought by Loreal, so..).
The best products are natural, my favourite is coconut oil.
But yes, there still are some great toxical products, that I couldn't change by anything natural. YET. :)

I personally dont believe brand names matter.... its really just the popularity of the product you are paying for.

To me all that matters is what works best. Regaurdless of name or popularity but with that being said I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and most of the time thats right.

The brand does not make anything a "must" for me. Knowing that it works does. If I've had good luck with brands in the past, I'm more likely to come back for more. For example, I'm picky with lipsticks because a lot of tastes and scents bother me. I hate NYX round lipsticks for that reason and a few others [mainly drugstore]. I like MAC lipsticks for their vanilla scents as well as their wear.
