I always use sulfate-free shampoos, I noticed a really big difference since I started, I use the Dr. Organic shampoos.

I alternate between organix shampoo with keratin and paul mitchelles sulfate free shampoo with keratin. I recommend products from organix since they are pretty reasonably price and don't have sulfates or parabens. if you look at the ingredients youll see the name organix is a bit misleading...they still have some chemicals just not as much, or as harmful, as most shampoos do. overall I like all the ones I've tried though they're worth looking into. just don't buy that they're using all natural or even organic ingredients lol it's all marketing.

Yeah sulfates are very damaging, they strip and dry out your hair. It's the chemical that makes shampoo lather/foam. I use Andalou Naturals.

Naturally Silk Elements has an entire paraben, sulfate & mineral oil free line of products that smells really good and works really well for all hair types. Maybe you'll like it. You can get it at Sally's beauty supply and I also did a quick review on my blog: http://ronnierochester.blogspot.com/2013/03/whos-behind-naturally-silk-elements.html?m=1.

I use As I Am coconut conditioning cowash. No sulfates or a super long ingredient list. Ever since I left the sulfate shampoos alone my hair no longer feels rough and scalp doesn't feel irritated. Sulfates can also be found in facial cleansers as well.

Sulfates dry out your hair and are possibly a carcinogen! No sulfates or silicones for this curly girl!
