Saving my Hair from Chlorine.

Tuesday I'm going hiking and then swimming in a pool and I'm worried about my hair getting damaged from the chlorine.
Is there anything I can do to prevent damage?
I thought about taking some shampoo and coconut oil with me so I can wash my hair then apply the oil, would that help? Is there anything I can do before entering the pool?
Any other tips would be amazing to hear! Thanks for your time.

You can put your hair in a high bun n not go under water

Before going to the pool, I apply coconut oil on my hair then braid it all back, when I get home , I wash& condition my hair like usual, the the oil actd as a barrier for a chlorine to dry before it ever reaches my hair :)

Usually I put on leave in conditioner in my hair every hour or so
