No, I don't thinks it's "hard" at all, you can make it cute, and if you dress in regular clothes and have nice makeup on instead of all black, then I don't see goth at all.

It shouldn't affect employment, a lot of places let you have your hair down unless it's dealing with food or machinery really, and she's young I'm sure she won't be in any job to seriously professional like law or medical.
