It's most definitely worth it. All Too Faced cosmetics are well pigmented, apply evenly, and don't crease over a primer.
The matte palette features three different brown shades, a white, a green, a navy, a light pink, a violet mauve, and a deep gray. All of these shades are very versatile as they can be used on any skin tone depending on how much you apply. The shadows can also be used day or night and are very work appropriate. Like all Too Faced palettes, the matte palette also comes with three cards with suggested application for those who aren't as practiced with makeup, which makes their palettes very user friendly.
Just based on the versatility of the colors, and the fact that you're essentially getting 6 quality colors for $40, I'd say it's definitely worth it.
