I've been homeschooled since 8th grade due to an eating disorder. Next week I start school in a new town as a junior and I'm SO nervous because I've never been in public school. Any tips?

It's honestly not that scary! Just talk to people, no ones going to straight out be rude!

I agree with Brittany; don't be scared! Be outgoing and try and get involved in things-you'll make tons of friends! And don't worry most teachers are awesome and will totally help you if you ask :)

I feel so embarrassed to admit this..but..my biggest concern is who I'm going to sit with at lunch my first day!

Honestly lunch actually sucked the first week of school but you just have to talk to someone on your lunch period and ask if it is ok to sit with them.

Unfortunately, you'll probably have to sit by yourself for the first few days. I go to a school with 3k + students and somehow none of my friends had the same lunch as me so I was alone until I made a friend in my new classes. It sucks, but you have just have to own it. be confident. there's nothing wrong with being alone

Here's a tip! Find someone who's also alone :)

But it all honesty, everyone's going to be really nice to you simply because new kids are fascinating! It's a fresh face and someone they look at a potential friend! I adore new kids.

What I used to do was make a friend with someone in the same class as you right before your lunch period. You guys can walk to lunch together and grab a seat together with his/her friends. There's always someone really friendly to talk yo.

I understand where your coming from with the whole being home schooled and then going to actually school. I was home schooled the end of freshman year because I was battling with depression. The come sophomore year I was ready to go back and I was so worried and nervous. But once I was there I was fine. Now I'll be a senior in high school and it just goes but so fast. Soo don't worry girl you have nothing to worry about :)
