So I'm experiencing a little problem, with different mascaras. One is loreal voluminous and the other is loreal telescopic shocking extensions, both in the waterproof formula. Both of them leave smudges throughout the day underneath my lower lashes, and it's starting to get really annoying. I use a makeup setting spray to set my makeup, which also controls my oily skin, and I just don't understand why the waterproof formula does this to me. Has anyone else experienced this? Are these mascaras just not very good as a waterproof mascara? Or does it just mean that it's old and I need to purchase a new one? I started using one of them at the beginning of June, btw, and it started leaving smudges a few weeks ago.

Maybe your putting to much on. or its still wet and your blinking or closing your eyes. also it could be your eyeliner or makeup dripping down. I havent had any problems with them before.

I don't put much on my lower lashes, and no, I wait until they're dry before I do anything, and it happens whether or not I'm wearing eyeliner (and even when I do, I don't use any on my waterline). Like I said, it happens throughout the day, which is why I'm frustrated with it :(

I have oily eyelids and that causes wheb waterproof mascara to smudge on me so I tend to prime them or put translucent powder over them. maybe you can apply mascara after setting spray?

There is a difference between waterproof and smudge proof mascara not a lot of people know that there's only a few products that really seem to work I'm still trying to find my perfect holy grail the best so far is called professional all in one by covergirl in waterproof it's mostly just lengthening its in a blue tube the purple tube and the other color one I think pink smudge. Diorshow waterproof is decent its the only other one I've foound I can deal with but iits exspenskive. I just use straight mascara nothing under or over. The right mascara you shouldnt have to do anything extra. I have oily eyelids and also have pr8blems with eyeliner even with ud and multiple other primers.Makeup Forever aqua liner is the only thing I found that actually works perfect for me also stila has one the stay all day liquid eyeliner penbut that one dries out really fast. Makeup Forever also has a clear liquid called Aquaseal that you can mix with an eyeshadow and use a brush but the color ends up being more sheer. next I'm going to be trying some of the gel eyeliners and see how those go that's one of the things one of the only things I haven't tried yet. sorry for the paragraph I really hope this helps some girls out there I know I've had a heck of a time trying to find products that work for me and articles that are true to what they say.
