Hi! I'm in deep trouble. I tried this oatmeal face mask, left it on for about 20 mins, and it seems like I'm worse than before! Yes, my skin is softer than before but I have these little red dots all over my cheeks! I look terrible! Please help! Will post pic of cheek.

Oh no! Maybe your skin is allergic to the honey or the oats. Everyone's skin is different and reacts differently.

Ice it down, put on aloe vera gel/cream to cool down the irritation.

You're probably sensiyive to oatmeal. This might a little while to get rid of but put cole aloe vera gel on it.

Cold* just put in the fridge and gently rub the aloevera gel onto your face and dry.

Thanks, but I'm not allergic to oatmeal OR honey! Idk what happened! The spots don't even hurt, they are just there. Should I still do what you said?

I get those same spots as an allergic reaction too...they usually fade away quickly on their own. Just make sure you get all of the mask off your face.

I did, but do you know if you are allergic to honey or oatmeal? I can eat both but I have never had them on my face, so I don't really know which one caused this? Thanks again :)

Maybe it kind of burned your face in some way. I don't really know.

Probably your skins just sensitive to it. Don't itch or touch it! But yes put the cole aloe vera gel on. It helps a lot I had someyhing like this but the aloe helped a lot.

My face does that with oatmeal masks too! Weird. If it burns at all, try putting aloe very gel on it. It is very soothing. Mine went away in about an hour, but we don't have the same skin so I'm not sure if yours will. Best of luck to you!

While making your own beauty products can be wonderful, sometimes the ingredients can be unstable without you realizing it. Some components of one ingredient, ie the oatmeal, might not be compatible with a component of another ingredient which would cause a reaction without it actually being an allergic reaction. Have you ever had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in your mask before? As painful as it might be you might want to try each ingredient individually so that you can narrow down the results so this doesn't happen again. If no reaction occurs with the individual ingredients then it was probably an unstable mixture. I'm sure by now (since this is a week old) that your reaction has gone away. I, as many others stated, strongly agree that you should use Aloe Vera on any skin reactions. Aloe works in amazing ways for an assortment of skin conditions! Its natures little miracle worker! Just PLEASE make sure you are using PURE Aloe and not anything that is found in <most> stores. Natural Aloe is clear, not blue or green, those are chemical dyes added in. Many companies add alcohol, oil and other nasty ingredients or water down their Aloe products. These are not helpful and most of it will just dry your face out or clog your pores so please check the ingredients to make sure you are getting quality Aloe. I hope everything went away and nothing more serious happen! Best of Luck in the future!
