For a while now, I've been wanting to dye my hair red, I've asked many of you for your opinions and pretty much all of you said to go for it. I did a whole research and finally bought the product today. I wanted to make sure once again and googled whether red can go over brown hair and it's not giving me certain answers. Have you dyed your hair with this product even though you have brown hair? And how did it turn out? I was thinking about dying my hair tomorrow.

I have never used that product but I have ha red hair for three years and if this your first red dying then I suggest you use the product Loreal Color Excellence which can be found in Sally's. It's meant for people with brown or black hair because when you use it will gently lift the brownness and deposit the red color so it will be more vivid. With other dyes I found that is would just stain my brown hair for a few days and at the end of the week it would just look like bloody poo :/ it wasn't cute. So yeah, Loreal color excellence. I used the shade Magenta c: it was a beautiful dark red

My hair dresser actually recommended this brand to me, personally I'm not a huge fan as its not bright enough for my taste and if you have dark hair transitioning to red it will not show the best results. Iraida is steering you in the right direction, Sally's products are more likely to give you red hair. But personally I wouldn't trust such a dramatic colour change myself, the salons prob the best idea
