How to do a messy bun!

So I have thick blonde hair that comes just above me boobs. I am always putting my hair up because I have practice or a test or whatever. I am sick of just a plain ponytail. I have tried doing a messy bun the way you kinda loop it through but it won't work! Any suggestions??
