I'm desperate to solve my oily skin problem and I've heard taking birth control pills can reduce oily skin? Any experience/tips with this?
Thanks :)

Birth control has side effects also but once you start using it reguarly it could help. for oily skin you should you face washes without oil in them and face cream that don't have oils.

Birth control affects some of the hormones which cause acne, which in turn could make your skin less oily. It really helped my acne so if you wanna try it, go for it. But, you could also try the Cetaphill Oil Control Face wash and moisturizer. hope this helps :)

Also birth control can make you infertile if you use it to long.

Jay- how do you use coconut oil? Like, as a moisturizer or to steam your pores?

I've been taking birth control pills for about a year and it has made my skin less oily and my acne has gotten SO much better but it's different for every person :)

There are only three FDA approved BC pills that have been known to treat acne related problems because of their combo of hormones. I'm actually thinking of switching to one of those (even though I think they are really expensive) because I have a Mirena IUD and have acne/oil issues like never before from it! Nightmare.

Mookey B, I actually Iost weight with birth control pills. Some of them make you gain weight, but not all of them.

Each person is different, not everyone reacts the same way to the same stuff, not because someone gained weight by taking a certain birth control pill means everyone who takes it will gain weight as well; I recommend you trying them and see for yourself.

Birth control doesn't do much to clear up my skin, but I know it can for a lot of people! Also it's a myth that birth control can make you infertile and I did not gain weight by going on the pill. Just like Yuli said, everyone reacts differently!
