Should I invest in a separate sunscreen product or is it enough to rely on moisturizer (with say spf 15) and powder foundation (with spf 25)?

I'd say get a separate but thats because I birn extremely easy and fast and that wouldnt be enough to protect me but if its enough for you and you don't burn easy then you should be fine :)
