I have a lot of trouble finding a foundation that is light enough for me. I always have to buy the lightest shade, and often it's still too dark. I have to do some serious blending into my neck for it to look right, any suggestions for foundations to try?

Revlon Colorstay. I had to go darker in this foundation. I really like it though.
Like Skye said a BB cream is good as well. (:

Rimmel True Match. I'm very very faired skinned and this foundation blends in with my skin tone perfectly and it's completely not noticeable! I keep getting compliments on my face make up and I know it's because of that!

I'm pale as a vampire and even though I hate loreal because they test on animals the best match I found was W1 I think it was. I picked the lightest warm foundation. It was still too dark, but the closest I found. Otherwise I cannot buy drug store foundation it's all too dark. I'd recommend finding some white foundation to mix with your other colors if you're as pale as I am haha. Yaby has some for a good price if you don't mind ordering online. If you want a higher end foundation Kat Von D and Bobbi Brown have the lightest I've found.
