You can try it, but I don't believe it will lighten your hair in the way desired. I did it when I had dark hair (my natural hair) and it turned orangey it was weird! I recommend using lemon juice instead of sun in, its cheaper easier to get and works better!

Sun in is only for blondes, it says it right on the bottle. If you're a brunette and you use it, your hair will turn a weird orangey colour, that happened to a friend.

And on the back it has a brunette hair before and after so it's obviously not just for blondes. ^
