Is it best to use a remover with acetone in it or a non-acetone remover? Which polish remover do you recommend?

If you are trying to get off false nails, use nail polish removers WITH acetone. If you're just using it for nail polish removal, use non-acetone polish remover. The acetone could harm your nails if it is used oftenly.

I use Acetone, because it works really fast. But it's not good for your nails.
