I know this is kind of a weird topic... but I went hiking today and a friend of mine showed up in a full face of makeup! Now, there's no problem with that and after the way I looked at the end I almost wish I had too! Haha. Do any of you outdoorsy girls ever wear makeup while hiking? Sporting? Etc.?
How do you get it to stay on through sweating? And what about your hair? What products would you use to keep it frizz free and lustrous in the wild?
Just wondering. =]

I only wear only chapstick and moisturizer with SPF in it before hiking. I know im going to be sweating and focusing on burning fat & calories, so i could care less about how i look while im working out! your friend is either insecure without makeup on or just obsessed with wearing it.

yes !! when im out with friends, makeup is a must have! even if it means going swimming! i wear all waterproof products, due to having super straight and tiny asian eyelashes, waterproof mascara is the only mascara that works, esp maybelline falsies ^^ when i go somewhere that i know i will sweat, i bring blotting papers and powder. also, i never ever forget about my pink lipsticks <3

Well, if I were hiking and HAD to wear make up, I think I'd go with a tinted moisturizer with some SPF. You could even do that by taking some of your normal foundation and mixing it with your moisturizer. For a little bit of extra coverage, I'd use a little bit of foundation in those areas. For eyes I would stick with either Urban Decay products or Make up forever. Urban Decay's 24/7 pencils are really water proof, as are Make Up forevers aqua creams/liners. For mascara I'd go with something water proof, and I find that CG's lashblast is pretty good. For lips I'd go with a tinted balm - it'll add color and keep your lips hydrated. I don't think I'd really worry about powder too much, seeing as I know I would end up sweating it off, and I wouldn't want to reapply ever thirty minutes. I would just keep everything light. As for hair, I don't really have any problems with friz. I find garnier products work just fine for me.

I go trail running and there is no way I would wear make-up. Even going to the gym I get away with mascara and lipstick but anything beyond that I don't even bother with. I've invested waayyy too much money and time to get my skin healthy and acne free to risk it just to look good on the trail. Besides, I'm more concerned by ticks and mosqitoes to be stressing about lipstick. lol

I only wear makeup when working out when i already had it on. No sense in putting on a full face to sweat it off. Also if i had to i would just do mascara, moisturizer, and chap stick

When I workout the makeup I adjustment I make is to clean the eyebrows.
If I came from work or went out earlier in the day then I wear that makeup. No need to get all done up when I'm going to sweat.

I bicycle during the warmer months and never wear makeup. IMO, it makes no sense at all. If you're going to be outside and active all you need is a good sunscreen. Plus, I'm more concerned about unleashed dogs on the loose (more common in my neck of the woods (a rural area) than it should be; grrr!), keeping an ear out for passing cars, and getting a good ride in! How I look while on the bike is the least of my worries.

i definitely dont think its necessary, but if i DID wear makeup while going hiking, playing sports, ect, i would stick to a tinted mousturizer, mascara, chapstick, and id have to define my brows or it look weird lol.

I Dont really think there's any point in wearing make-up to excercise because you will sweat it off.just wearing a rad bit of mousturizer,a lip balm and possaibly clean up your eyebrows so your skin can breathe...if i excercise with make-up on,i look like a panda! LOL

When i went hiking i wore foundation, gel liner (on the top lash) and some mascara. And through out the day/night walking i would touch up the foundation it was super easy and stayed on the whole time. For my hair i put it up in a messy bun and left my fringe out. To keep my hair up plenty of grips were essential and lots of hair spra to keep my hair in place, i used a little hair oil on the ends of my fringe to stop the frizz. and some gloss to keep my lips moisturised. Hope this helped. x

When I'm out hiking in the mountains or at the gym I don't wear hardly any makeup. I put on a little eyeshadow (with a primer), liner, and some waterproof mascara that doesn't budge - this stays on till the end of the day. Im there to sweat, workout, and enjoy myself so I don't worry about it! :] You don't want to clog your pores so Id say avoid wearing a full face of makeup- it comes off anyways! I always tie my hair back and if its pretty fizzy I always put 1 or 2 drops of coconut oil in it!
