Waves: put your hair in a french braid over night!! (if your hairs not wet then add sime hairspray)
Curls: make small or big buns in your hair (depending on what size and sleep with it) wetish hair or hairspray your hair

If your hair is dry, I would slightly dampen it with water and then just do a regular braid and sleep with it overnight and just undo it the next morning :)

If you have quite a bit long hair, bend over and make a braid on top of your hat, this is what I always do and it gives me natural waves all over :)
