I would keep it how it is for now and then go dark like you said, only because dying it red would damage it as you'd have to keep re dying it... it fades fast!

I work at a hairsalon and we have some great stuff from Bumble & Bumble to keep the red truly red ;) so that shouldn't be a problem.

Your beautiful no matter what hair color you do do a bright dark red like Paramore singer it makes your beautiful eyes pop
