She said If I wanted to go to that lady , I'd have to pay $100 every 6 weeks for a year. Since I want my hair healthy I would need to take steps. Is that good pricing? I'm not sure if that's too much or what..

That sounds like a lot.

I think you can start with high lights in that color little by little and the price I think is good I use to paid 150.

Ok, if you want to do it yourself here are some safety net tips: all you have to do is find out what color your hair is just in case you want to go back.
But $100 every 6 weeks is really expensive, in my opinion. But if she does an exceptional job an your willing to spend that money, go for it. It'll look good on you!

You really don't have to spend that much to get healthy hair.

It should be more the first time and less after. Since you will only be getting your roots done. And you don't have to go every 6 weeks. You go when you don't like the way your roots are. The price is really good. Coming from a family who owns salons and 2 bf that own salons you're getting a deal") have fun it's hair. It won't dry it out. Use a good conditioner.

That's waaaaay to much. I got mine all done at once when I went black to blonde and it was 120. It didn't damage it and it won't as long as you wait a few days to wash it and deep condition afterwards!:)

I have really dark hair and pay more than that for highlights every 7 weeks but I live in a high cost of living area. I think you need to be careful lightening really dark hair. I've had some bad experiences at salons and definitely don't try it on your own. And your hair probably isn't going to look healthy honestly. Mine definitely doesn't and if if wasn't super dark with me being super pale, I would go back to my natural hair color. It will need to be bleached and it is just extremely damaging unfortunately.

If you have natural hair you should be able to go lighter with color and developer which isnt as harmful as bleach. honestly I think 100 is good for the first visit but if you have to pay that even when your just getting your roots touched up that's crazy.

To be honest its hard to not damage your hair. Once you start dying it all the constant up keep with the highlights and retouch your hair is bound to get damaged.

Honestly, depending on how dark your hair is and how light you want it-they might be able to do a highlift color and that should keep your hair healthy and intact. Of course, everyone is different! But it wouldn't hurt to try another reputable salon for a consultation

It sounds pricey.
