Should I wear a dress with a jean vest and booties? I want too but a lot of people say it'll make it look like I'm trying too hard. I normally wear skinny jeans and a blouse or shorts with a blouse (sometimes sweats or tshirts), is wearing a dress too dressy?

Yes of course! I think a dress is simple and with the boots makes it fancy but then the jacket makes it casual. so I say totally go for it!!
