Hair Color Disaster (Pro To Pro)

I dyed a friends hair with some ion color that she brought. we did an ombre which blended perfectly but her level 8 blonde turned purple about 2-3" past her roots. it was supposed to be a 6ish N
any ideas as to why? all I can think of is that the tube was bad.

I have seen hair turn pink bleaching if red was ever put of the hair. It didn't even have to be the last colour. I'm assuming purple would be a similar thing, somewhere along the line a colour was put on and didn't lift well?

I'm thinking it wss the tube too. she is too conservative for purple hair. she did bleach up warm bc of the red in the other colors but it still doesn't make sense that it would have pulled that hue of purple. thanks ladies!

I'm not sure what actually happened there, but I have had nothing but terrible issues with Ion colors. Each tube I've used has had terrible inconsistencies which just results in hair disasters even when I've applied it right.  =/

Yeah her virgin roots were supposed to be a 6 but then came out as a 3 or 4. the color hue of the roots was fine, just a little dark. poor thing. she's licensed too and was just so traumatized. neither of us can really figure out what happened either. I guess thats what we get for using a non-professional line.
