I need help. I'm looking to go platinum at home. I know how to do this, my only problem is it's been so long since I've done it myself I no longer know which products to use. I was wondering if any of you have recommendations? Specific bleach, developer, toner, protein treatments, pre-treatments, whatever. What are your favorites?
My hair is very fine, but I have tons of it. It is in excellent health, very little breakage/split ends/dryness. Naturally I'm somewhere in the level 8 area. I have a few inches of my natural regrowth, the rest is processed levels 10-7. I keep it toned nice and cool, no brassiness here. Also, my hair lifts easily and FAST, as well as sucking up color quickly. The reason I'm doing it myself is because I can't afford the salon. So cheaper recommendations are appreciated. And I am terrified of damaging my hair. I worked so hard to get it this long and healthy. I'm way super cautious. So... any tips? Anything helps. Thanks!

If you know how to go platinum then why are you asking? But anyways at sallys the quick blue bleach and 20 volume developer is awesome and for a toner the most popular is wella t18! Good thing you are naturally so light or else it would be impossible to do at home! And also the macadamia repair mask (as well as the rest of the line) at sallys is awesome and the matrix so silver is the best purple shampoo!

Impossible at home.. No. I was dark brown and went platinum myself. Keep products sulphate free. Aussie is nice, 3 minute miracle is the bomb.
Silver lights is a good blue shampoo. Suave has an aweso,e keratin conditioner and hot oil styling product.

Megan S. "my only problem is it's been so long since I've done it myself I no longer know which products to use." It's been about 9 years since I've had to shop for this stuff. A lot can change in 9 years.
