I am a plus sized woman with zero style (I'm ashamed to admit this but its true). I can't put an outfit together to save my life and shopping is so frustrating that I usually just grab a few pieces that fit and call it a day. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions to help me please??

I'm in the same position,I hate going shopping feel like I can't find anything. Have you tried any plus size stores, I need to try but its kind of hard I'm kinda in between sizes.

I agree with Ben! who cares if you have a belly...put a belt on to define your waist more, wear a low cut top to show off the ladies, and wear jeans that make your booty look ahhhmazing! I've definitely learned that there's no point to covering up every piece of your body. every one knows your plus sized, so why not just flaunt those curves? some of my favorite stores aare Torrid, Simply Be (check out the line from Joe Browns...I live in his clothes year round...so amazing). Forever 21 and Wet Seal have plus size...online only. as does Old navy. even look at Walmart. Don't be afraid to mix and match either. there's no reason you can't look fun and cute too :-)

Thanks so much you guys. I've never been really good when it comes to clothes but I've never been this big either. After I had my son and graduated from college, I was unemployed and deeply depressed. I ended up suiting at home everyday eating my way to a size 26-28 in jeans. I'm down to a 22-24 now, which is still pretty heavy but I'm working on me.

How did you loose weight. I want to start just kind of clueless on where to begin.

I started super simple. I cut out all sodas and I only drink juice 3 or four times a week. I try to do at least fifteen minutes of exercise everyday and at least an hour on Saturdays. Through the week I switch up my exercises, I might do squats on monday and treadmill on tuesdays, then do a combo on Saturdays. Eat a lot of fresh veggies, stay away from canned foods and microwaveable stuff, its all full of salt and sugars. This may sound a little gross but years of bad eating habits left my digestive system completely screwed up so I take a laxative once a week.

I'm slowly cutting out soda, one of my weaknesses.mostly drink caffeinated soda to help with my migranes. Been walking more, just find it hard to stay motivated.

@ VERONICA, I cut out drinking soda a year, 5 months, and 9 days ago...I also drank a lot of coca cola for my horrible migraines I get...but then I started drinking the 'Lipton Pure Leaf Sweet Tea' that comes in the 6 packs or singles at the gas mart...It is AWESOME tea, fresh real brewed and has more caffeine than soda does, but none of the high fructose corn syrup out carbonation. You will feel so different after you cut out soda!! @KELLY, they are putting a Torrid store in the mall close to where I live and I am super stoked! I am curvy with big hips and butt/thighs and its sooo hard for me to find jeans and stuff that fits me and looks good! Plus to top it off I am tall so its like if something fits me in the top its always too short! Its so frustrating!

I've done it before just seems harder this time around. Did you notice any weight loss from having no soda.

OHH and @KATREIKA, keep up the good work sweetie, it sounds like you are on the road to being healthier and losing weight and doing a great job! I tell you girl it is so hard for me to eat healthy. I mean I don't eat Fast food a lot but I mean I snack a lot on sugary stuff...chocolate cake is my ultimate weakness! I always buy a big chocolate cake like once every 2 weeks and eat it all myself :( I am a huge sugar feind. Everytime I start a diet I fail at it...its like my body craves sugar wayy too much and I can't stick with the diet. I feel like a failure in that department...but ANYWAYZz I just wanted to tell you keep up the good work chica ;)

@VERONICA...Girl I went from a size 15 to a 12 just from cutting out the soda...NO JOKE! Now just imagine if I could cut out all the sugar I eat I could maybe be down a few more sizes!

I mean but I drank coca cola from the time I left for work at 9:30 I'd go thru McDonalds to grab a fountain coke and chocolate chip cookies and then thru out my day I would be drinking bottled coke like that is literally ALL I ever drank, except when I'd go to bed I'd keep a glass of water on my bedside table...but thats it! So I drank an awful lot of coke. Now, I drink about 4 bottles of the Lipton Pure Leaf sweet tea a day.

I'm plus size as well. Take the time to try on clothes on the store and ask the clerk for help if you're not sure. My issue was buying things that were way to big thinking that would hide but that in the end only made me look bigger. Also if you know someone who is a seamstress or tailor don't be afraid to have things altered to fit you. I'm a seamstress to so message me if you have any other questions about fit it style. smm52873@gmail.com.

@Aubrie a lot of the Torrid brand jeans are super stretchy. I've always had the best luck with their jeans. I'm tall too...5'10" and it is a pain In the figging butt to find things that arnt too short or that fall just right.

Katrieka, I'm also plus size and pre-diabetic. Sounds to me that you are doing all the right things in terms of food. In fashion I wear what I feel I look good in. I love bright colors etc. I wear "in your face" jewelry, which I think draws the eye away from my belly. Don't get frustrated in stores. Take your time and look for things you really like. Keep up the good work.

@Kelly, I love stretchy jeans! It seems like they fit me the best...I'm looking forward to checking out Torrid when they finally get it put in! I am 5'6'' but still that is taller than a lot of girls and its like its so hard to find longer pants cuz they seem to make more for "average" height girls you know?! Lol.
