It looks like they put a black/dark grey base coat then applied the silver brushing from the bottom up to create a fade.

Use one of those triangular makeup sponges and paint the glitter nail polish on it and when your base coat is dry and the glitter one is still wet on the spunge swipe up with it very lightly and if you need to touch it up use the nail polish brush. Hope I explained it well enough :)

Use a napkin.put the glitter on the napkin (it can be a piece of paper aswell) and apply it at the top of your nails.and that's it :) :p.

I've done this look before :p just.. did it with red polish last year for Halloween & made it look like blood.
1. start with a base coat to protect your nails from the polish, as well as staining, etc.
2. you don't have to do this, but I usually do just to make my colours extra bright; paint the whole nail white.
3. paint your base colour. in the photo you've provided, it would be the dark gray.
4. once base colour has dried, on a makeup (or any sponge really, but keep it small so it's easy to control) paint the glitter polish.
5. lightly begin dabbing the glitter onto the edge of your nail. build the glitter up on the edge of the nail so you can't really see the gray anymore, then lightly work the glitter up towards the cuticle.

you can do whatever you want really. play around with your nails & the polish & see what works best for you :p this is what I do when doing nail looks like this. hope that helped!
