I recently colored my hair but noticed it faded extremely fast. How can I prevent this?

First, wash your hair as little as possible. Dry shampoo is your friend. Second, switch to a sulfate free shampoo. I like Deva Care No Poo. It's a cleansing conditioner, no foam, so it doesn't strip as much color out. Third, it depends on what color and what brand you used. Reds always fade the fastest. It's sad but true. Clairol lasts longer than feria, and Wella lasts longer than Claroil. Sometimes it takes some experimenting to see which brand sticks to your hair best.

I agree with kelly. Also wash in cool water cause it keeps the hair cuticle closed so it loses less color and don't overdo it on conditioners because conditioner pushes it's way into the hair which pushes color out.
