Does BB cream work as a foundation primer as well? I know it had a primer built into it but ive heard that you can put your foundation over the BB and it will keep your makeup from fading. I just want to know if any of you have tried this and does it work!? If it works im all for it I just don't want to spend my money if its not gonna work as good as a plane jane foundation primer. Thanks :]

I've never tried it, but I don't see how if wouldn't work. Adding the foundation would just enhance the coverage.

No I do not think anyone should use bb cream as a primer. Some are too thick. They clog your pores and make some people break out. Ur best bet if u can't afford a high end. Foundation primer hard candy sells one at Walmart for $9 which works wonders.

I use clinique's bb cream as a pre-foundation step & it hasn't failed me. However, I'm using a powder foundation (bare minerals), you might have a different experience if you're using a liquid foundation.

BB Cream is designed to be worn alone OR under foundation. All Asian/Korean BB cream's website's discuss this, which is what they're meant for.

I've been using it as a primer - on and off - for the last year. Another member here on Beautylish - a year or two ago - recommended to mix it with foundation as well and I did that as well and like it.

There truly isn't a rule stating that you can't do it. It doesn't work for everyone...you should give it a try to see if it works for you. :)

I've used bb cream and had clients use it as well for a primer, just to get a firm base for their foundation. I've honestly seen it create an extremely smooth canvas for foundation. :) BB cream was created to be worn alone OR as a base/Primer for foundation. :) hope this helps hun!

I wouldn't use a BB cream as a primer. That is, unless it's an American Brand. Then I think it's alright to do. But if it's a Korean brand (best B.B creams out there!), I don't think you'd need it.

BB Creams may be too heavy to use as primer. Since they are multifunctional (evens texture, tinted moisturizer, spf , brightener)
It may affect the appearance of the foundation
In need of the foundation use your BB cream (as a foundation base) along with concealer set it with powder and VOILA!!
* Depending on which BB cream you use some brands have more coverage than others :)

I definetly think you can! Especially if you use a very expensive foundation. The BB cream just means that you use less of your foundation!
