You can use almost any heat protection spray or creams before ironing your hair. Part your hair in 4 quadrants and then work in each quadrant by separating your hair piece by piece, starting from the neck make line up, then go over the hair in a downwards slow movement, working your way to the ends, you can turn the hair straighter under at the ends for a better look, only go over each hair piece once and slow, try use a comb whilst straightening.

The whole look works best when your hair has been washed. After washing spray a heat protector. What I usually do is my makeup or other things and let my hair air dry partially than go in with blowdry to avoid as much heat as possible. I start from the nape of my neck than work up and in sections till I get to my bangs. Don't add too much oils and shine serums. Your hair will look oily and greasy.

Another tip, to avoid damaging your hair, its better to go over each section less times at a higher heat then going over it repeatedly. Go slowly and have consistent follow through. if you slow down or stop at any point on your hair, it will create a dent. when you use a heat protectant, spray it into a brush and then brush thru your hair. stay away from the roots or it will get greasy. dont use so much product that your hair is saturated or you can burn your hair and make sure your hair is dry, not wet! You can also get really pretty curls using a straightener. you just clamp down onto your section and rotate the iron 90 degrees and pull it thru. its so pretty! here is a video to help you out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMarSD-Cueo
