What's worse and why: Chemically straightening your hair or bleaching your hair?
I have always wondered this and was wondering if any of you guys could answer it :) x

I find that chemically straightening your hair is much worse.
Handfuls of hair fall out ( When they did it to me when I was little - 9 years old- I thought I had cancer! That's how much would fall out. ), it looks so dried out and frizzy and disgusting. And it would always burn the heck out of my scalp and leave me itchy and irritated.

Both are bad but chemically straightening from what I've heard is soo much worse!

Chemically straightening hair isn't actually harmful. I've had a relaxer since I was 7 year olds. My mom is a cosmetologist who gears her salon towards growing relaxed hair long and healthy. All her clients have bra strap length hair and longer. My hair has been extremely healthy and strong for as long as I can remember. Just like coloring your hair, with relaxing it maintenance is the most important thing. People have horror stories with relaxing because it was used improperly or wasn't maintained properly. You can do either or and still have decent hair. There really isn't a less of the two hair "evils" because they both alter the composition of your hair.

Thank you guys so much! I wanted to chemically straighten my hair because my natural hair is very thick and wavy. I always straighten it and was thinking to have it chemically straightened to save effort and time. All my friends have been telling me that bleaching damage is similar to chemical damage so I wanted to ask you guys for your opinions. Xxx
