Olive oil might be toooo heavy for your hair but try coconut oil&&use it as a deep conditioner.

Untill you'll get coconut oil here is how to do a olive oil treatment-> warm it a lil, masage into scalp, I won't advice to put it on hair because if your hair is colored it's going to be darker and lose volume generally. Wear a shower bonet or cellophane pocket, cover with a towel and hold not less than 30 minutes. It should help making your roots more healthy:-)
