Every time I put on foundation (especially the stick foundation) it ends up becoming slightly 'cakey' and not flawless! I wash my face, use a scrub/exfoliant, moisturise and prime and this still happens! what can I do? Thanks :) x

Get an airbrushed finish look foundation, or use a sponge x

What are you using to apply your foundation and how much are you usually applying? If you are going to use something like a stick foundation I would suggest putting a 'small' amount around the center of your face and spreading it out with a damp sponge. Remember less is more. :-)

Try a primer underneath your foundation...that should help w/ the cakey look.

Basically the same thing as using a primer.

Do you need such a thick foundation like a stick? That's sort of the nature of something like the stick and like the other ladies recommended buffing it out with a wet sponge should help.
You might do better with a liquid like UD Naked foundation.

Using a powder will make it look a bit more 'airbrushed', maxfactor creme puff is a good one to use.

Use a beauty blender sponge

I'd suggest Maybelline Fit Me foundation. If you aren't looking for too much coverage and a 'barely there' look then it would be perfect for you. I was sent a sample by Maybelline and since then I was hooked! So you should definitely give it a try :)

Do you exfoliate everyday or once or twice a week? if you exfoliate everyday then its probably eating up your pores and your pores are probably sucking up yiur foundation for hydration. tell me more about your skincare routine and what your skin is like

Which stick foundation are you using? Some are lighter than others and it just might not agree with your skintype.I love Bobbi Brown stick foundation but it only works with my skin during the winter when my skin isn't as oily. While during the warmer months its a no go for me. I currently use Maybelline Fit Me stick foundation and it works like a dream. Its not super thick and heavy like Bobbi Brown and it feels weightless.

Thanks everyone! I usually exfoliate once or twice a week and I was recommended the NP foundation stick for extra coverage (I only use this when I'm going out- not on a regular basis) the lady matched the foundation to my skin type/colour and it did appear to look 'flawless' however when I looked closer it was quite cakey! this seems to happen every time I wear it (to some degree) even with primer! I'll give all of your suggestions a go :) thanks so much for the advice xx
