Hi lovelies,
I am deeply considering pursuing a more professional career in makeup while I go through college. Does anyone have advice for someone trying to get a job at a makeup counter?

It's been my experience that stores and counters (for the most part) care more about your customer service and sales then actual tartistry, which plays a smaller role.
Really talk up your people skills and experience (even if you have a little) and your passion and willingness to learn.
Stores like sephora will not let you do makeup until you're certified through their company, counters/stores like Mac will put you through a makeup interview after you've passed the routine business interview. Etc.
So basically let them know you love makeup and your ultimate goal is to be a MUA but really shine the light on how well you can sell their product and what an asset you can be for their company :)
