Idk your skin type etc.but the most important thing in my opinion about foundation is shade matching I'm not saying go to Mac and get matched because some times their not even right.you can go to the drug store and buy a few and return the ones you don't think match. Also look in different lighting ,natural light mostly but check in different rooms in your house. You don't really need brushes for liquid foundation but you do for powder not those little puffs because they can make you look cakey ,elf has good quality brushes for 1-6 dollars at target.cleaning your brushes regularly is important to prevent breakouts and If your using you'd fingers make sure to sanitize before touching your face. Test run foundations on weekends to see their staying power or the finish as opposed to a school day where you can't really check often.

For powder I would get rimmel stay matte pressed powder. I recommed this to anyone and everyone but for foundation I use covergirl three in one foundation with the blue pump in a glass bottle... but the loreal truematch has many shades.

Loreal true match but WEAR A PRIMER 1st!! powder foundation can break you out when I found that out I stopped using it and my face cleared up.
