What's the difference between lip colour, lip stain, lip gloss, and lipstick?

Are they all the same?

Lipstick gives your lip color which is similar to lip stain but lip stain stays on your lips no matter what like if you eat something it'll stay on until you physically wipe it off, and lipgloss is a gloss that you can put on your lips over lipstick or just by itself

Lip stain, like the name implies stains your lips for a matter of hours (it stains your fingers too!) Lipstick is usually sits on top of the lips. Different lipsticks have different benefits, some are long lasting, and some can moisturize. Lip gloss is usually a shiny, rather sheer and needs to be applied more often then the other two. You can layer lipgloss on top of lipstick, and even lipstick if you wanted.

They're all different finishes for pigments- from sheer to opaque.

Lipstick and lip stains are a longer more pigmented wear

Where a lipgloss can be pretty sheer-opaque and can be taken off quickly.
