I bought a highlights kit, can't afford it done at the salon but don't want to botch it either. It came with a bonnet & crochet. Can someone explain how to select the strands I want highlighted this way? Not chunky strands, more natural ones but not too many. Thanks. ^_^

I would just pull very small amount of hair thru, I did this to my mom all the time she got tired of going to get her hair done.

Maybe you could go to your local cosmetology school, and get it done.

You literally just poke holes. The cap makes it more natural looking, and it can work on long hair. I second the cosmo school suggestion though, they are usually much cheaper. Just save a bit more instead of getting the kit. It's better to do that then mess it up then having to spend more money.
