Uh, there is no such thing as a "safe" way to go from black to blonde. Unless you just shave your head and start from there or gradually do it over like 2 or 3 years.

Yeah I'm scared to dye my hair to shreds.

Yeah, bleaching is really the only way. If you do go blonde, make sure you get it done professionally by a reputable salon. Even though it may be expensive, the better the colorist, the better the result.

They'll also have tips and suggestions for how to take care of bleached hair, and how to help return moisture to it.

I would recommend trying on a long blonde wig before you do it, because you might regret it.

Try lightening up your hair first by using lemon juice. It doesn't damage your hair, but it takes out a lot of the dark colour. Works great

As a hair stylist, I definitely suggest doing it slowly. Also, don't put lemon juice on your hair. No damage? Have you ever put that stuff on your skin and left it on for a while? Nothing lightens your hait without damage.

Stay away from strippers, I went fin black to blonde and it took me about a year or so- I used bleach in foils and gradually changed the colour- bleaching black makes it red, and then that colour will lighten more next time etc :)
