Hair color & style suggestions!

Okay, so it's been forever since I've gotten my hair done and when I go (hopefully soon) I want to change up my hair. As far as color I've been wanting to go a super dark red (probably Demi permanent if possible to see if I like it without trashing my natural hair color), but I'm not sure if I could pull it off. Also, I'm not sure if I want to cut my hair or leave it long (not really short, maybe just below my shoulders at the shortest. I just want something fresh since I've had the same hairstyle for ages). Any suggestions?

I think you could pull off the color but I think you should leave it long or get bangs or just cut to the middle of your chest.
