I need help with this too. I am going to a ball and need a good RED lipstick that isn't so drying and isn't too moisturizing, i have sensitive lips that seem to get "over moisturized" and start to peel even after having done a lip scrub.

The lipsticks from MAC have always been long lasting for me. Also you should check out OCC Lip Tars that are like lipsticks and now come with a lip brush to help with the application. They will last you all day! =)
Moisturizing my lips before application have helped me so much in making all of my lipsticks last.

Lip tars of course work wonders. But revlon colorstay liquid lipstick goes on like a gloss but gives a matte finish and I almost never have to touch up my lipsticks during the day!

Mac lipsticks are known for their cakey long lasting formula in their lipsticks but if you want a cheap dupe with Te same long lasting quality try wet n wild's lipsticks in the black tubes. Both are awesome :)

OCC Lip Tars all the way. I've always been terrified of lipstick. Of it getting all over my face, smearing, on my teeth, fading without me knowing, etc. But Lip Tars dry down and stay down! I pretty much never have to touch it up. Even after eating and drinking. They're amazing.

If money is no object I would check out Hourglass Liquid Lip Rouge. It looks like lip gloss but after it sets it does not budge for 8 hours. And once removed the lips do not come away feeling dry. I have it in 'icon'...a bright rich red and I love it.
