Test it either on the back of your hand in natural lighting or on your chest. I found my shade of foundation right away by testing it on the back of my hand.

When shopping for a foundation choose one that matches your neck shade YES your neck not your actual face. You want it to match your body and not have your face be lighter or darker than your neck. Itll be obvious between your neck color and face color. If your testing it out apply on your lower chin to see if it matches.
