Hiya... It's really good however make sure if you do use it purchase a brush head specific to your skin type they do ones for acne/deep pore cleanse/sensitive skin etc. it's fab when you use it at night and put a product on as you can feel it sink right in. Be prepared for the purging period though x

Purging is the process of embedded dirt/impurities coming to the skin surface and removing themselves from skin. I went through the purging stage with my Clarisonic and was shocked because I rarely get blemishes to begin with! It's very short lived and your skin will look great afterwards!

How long does the purging period last?

I guess it's okay but the Foreo Luna is a lot better... This is because it doesn't have the purging period. and it's ALOT more hygienic since it's made out of silicon. It's also more economical because with the clarisonic you have to replace the brush heads every 3-4 months whereas with the Luna you don't have to buy anything apart from the device. I've tried both and I prefer the Foreo Luna, you should maybe look into it.

It CAN help with acne but it might not. It's a great tool to clean the skin with but acne is a pretty complex ailment. We aren't even fully sure of all the things that can cause it and how to treat it. A lot about it is still unknown. It can help but it could also make it worse. Also, you shouldn't use it to take off makeup. It can actually push makeup deeper into the pores if you just go at your face with a full face still on. You should try to get the majority of your makeup off with a makeup remover and then use the Clarisonic. I can't recall where I read that but there was an article a while back about some things you should/shouldn't do with it. But back to acne, it may not help. It may not irritate it but it isn't a magic wand that will get rid of it. It can GREATLY reduce and improve it but it may not get rid of it. I have been using it for coming up on a year now and I have still struggled with acne. I'm finally going to the dermatologist next month. But it has helped. Until recently it has made the acne a lot more manageable. It could clear up yours almost overnight and that would be wonderful, but I just want to stress that this might not be the case. It will definitely clean your skin very well and will help any treatments or moisturizers absorb better and thus be more effective.

Also, the purging period doesn't happen to everyone. And it goes away relatively quickly. I haven't heard of the brush Karina has mentioned but it may be possible that she didn't experience a purge, not everyone will as everyone's skin is different. With any device that is deep cleaning and drawing dirt, oils, and toxins out there's probably always going to be a chance for the skin to purge and have a worse breakout. I would look up the device and see if anyone else has experienced one or not. I don't know for sure that there would be no purging at all for anyone, but I could be wrong. I would just think that anything that is doing what these devices do there would be the chance for a purge on anyone. But like I said, I haven't heard of this device so I'm not sure how it works exactly. Just sort of thinking out loud there ha.

As far as the brushes, you are supposed to clean the brush once a week with soap and water. So there really shouldn't be much bacteria if you are doing that. I wash mine once or twice a week and I've had no issues. Replacing them every 3 months has also not been inconvenient for me either. You can buy them in packs of 2 or 3 and be set for 6 to 9 months. Again, not trying to knock the other device, just sharing my personal experience and I've had no issues with either of those things. Bottom line is you won't know until you try. I feel like it helps a lot even with myself still having acne. But that is because acne is a stubborn thing to treat. If your acne is really bad I would see a dermatologist first. It may be cheaper and more effective and you may be able to get to the root of it faster. I hope this hasn't been rambly and has made some kind of sense lol. Basically, it CAN help but it might not. You can really only find out by trying it for a while.

It has been wonderful for my skin, I never had the 'purging' issue. My skin had broken out terribly due to stress and after one use I had already noticed a huge difference, I was really surprised because I didn't think it would help but I will never go without a Clarisonic for the rest of my life. My skin hardly ever breaks out now and it looks and feels so much better than it did. It is expensive but worth it! I don't use their cleansers though, I just use my avon acne cleanser and CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser and then Moisturize with CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion. I only use at night and I use makeup wipes before using the Clarisonic and make sure you get the right brush for your skin type, I use the sensitive one...

Caitlin M hit it right on the nose!! It's definitely not a cure all to resolving acne. You decide to get one I highly suggest using it twice a week just to get your skin acclimated because I've seen and heard horror stories from folks who were using it everyday. Every skin is different but you always want to err on the side of caution. And if you decide to get it...clean the brush head every week (personally if I had this device I would clean it after every use).
