Okay, so I'm only very young and I went through puberty earlier than all of my friends. I started getting the odd spots here and there when I was about 9, but over time it got worse. I'm now nearly 12 and I know I'm still very very young to be using beautylish but I'm in need of urgent help. My acne normally gets worse around 'that time of the month' but it just doesn't seem to be going. I've tried every skincare brand going including clearasil, freederm, proactive, no7 skincare, benefit skincare, simple, clean&clear, the body shop and so many others. I am now using La Roche-Posay Effaclar wash and spot cream but it seems to be making the problem worse. I have been perscribed several spot treatments over the years by doctors and I am now perscribed under medication from a dermotologist but that doesn't seem to be making any difference. My main acne area on my face is my forehead where I have minor marks (marks not scars) from picking spots. I get so self conscious about my acne and it gets me down. I'm even considering microdermabrasion. Is there anything you can recommend to help me with his acne/acne marks problem? again please keep in mind I am only very young.
all my friends have beautiful clear skin and this acne has had it's time and its time for it to go. Please help? thankyou xx

Thank you Katrina, it means a lot. I kind of have an obsession with water now thinking it will do miracles :) x

I agree with Katrina. but its most likely just a phase. your skin will start to get clearer after puberty. Just be sure to wash your face on a regular basis &drink plenty of water :)

My sister has had severe acne since she was 10 and she's 15 now. Right now she's using the garnier dark spot corrector and the oil free neutrogena face wash. I personally don't know what it's like, but I've seen how acne can effect a person so much. When I look at her, I don't see acne. Sure it's there, but who cares? She's such a sweet person that needs to smile more cuz she looks amazing with smiling eyes. I also have many friends with severe acne and they are wonderful people as well. Don't let acne make you miss out on important things like being happy :) also, make sure the people you hang out with aren't so jugdemental. Think positive! Acne will only go away if you believe it will :)

Don't be self conscious about it, It's totally normal to get spots around "That time of month" Just keep hydrated well and use some facial cleansers if you wish. You could also try a light weight foundation, but make-up isn't the best, its sometimes makes spots worse. So use a super good brand. :) Hope that helped :) xxxxxxxx

I don't have bad acne but I noticed that if I wash my makeup sponges/brushes more frequently, use ole henrickson african red tea foaming cleanser and Lancôme Visionnaire and my skin looks the best it's ever been.

I used to have really stubborn and consistent acne and I tried everything- even international products from japan and Europe! my mum finally took me to a dermatologist and I'm so happy I did because within ten minutes he kbew what I needed and prescribed it or suggested it to me and I've spent less money going to a derm that continuing to buy and test out random products. Listen, I got acne really bad when I was 8 cuz puberty for me was early and the derm fixed over five years of damage in three months please consider it itll change your skin for the better-they're an expert so they'll know exactly what your skin needs :)

This will sound weird, but wait a year or two, and if it's still pretty bad, consider going on birth control, it really made all the difference for my acne.

Have you tried using natural products? I use the Burt's Bees skincare line and have used almost every different face wash they carry and none have disappointed. I hear lemon juice and egg whites mixed together make a good mask and if used regularly can help with acne also. It is probably just hormones because adolescent skin produces more sebum than adult skin, causing pores to get clogged and producing acne. Don't let it get you down though it will clear up eventually, it's something most people will deal with at least once in their lives. good luck! (:
