Hey everyone I'm Roselyn I'm 21 I love makeup so much I have been doing makeup for 5 years I am just wondering if I could do anything from event's/special occasions,prom/graduation,wedding's,photo shoots & fashion all in one…or should I focus on one thing? I love to work on different event's I love to help everyone I am a well respected person and I love to work with people I believe that if you respect and love other's they'll treat other's the way you treated them….I'm am a new makeup artist I don't know what to charge I was planning on charging $25.00 a face because I don't wanna charge anyone to high or is $25.00 to low? I need photo shoot rate's? wedding rate's? prom/graduation rate's? event's/special occasion rates? and I am planing a group make over like how much should I charge for 10,20,30 people in a group? Well I am certified makeup artist though it's been hard getting gigs. The first thing you have to do is compare prices in general to salons around you. This gives you an idea to not set the price too low or too high. If you are traveling a long distance you have to charge for travel fees. You can do all the things combined or you can focus on bridals. Some bride are more willing to pay your price than others. No bargaining and stuff. Get paid for what you and your products are worth.

Roselyn, you need to see what others are charging in your area. Since you are starting out you will need to charge less than those with more experience. $25 a face is probably a good start. For photo shoots and such you need to have a day rate, and most likely can ask the photographer what he usually pays to get an idea.
