In terms of self application? or on another? wow I'll try and make this short in terms on what I don't use lol I Don't use bronzer for contour because of the tones in bronze does not give a great finish for the shadowing effect It gives a harsh look when people use it as contour.it's one of those products that people seem to try and like because if they admit it looks bad that they may think their not in the No of makeup But I'm here to say It's ok to say or admit it looks Bad because Bronze not in the right tone frame does look a mess and can make you look like a terracotta pot in the rain and does not give off a great Greyish tone like an actual sculpting powder would to create the shadowing illusion on the face BUT keep in Mind bronze can look Great over a finish face for a hint of tan effect.I also Don't perform that High Light Tree so to speak because in my opinion when it passes to far up to the forehead and Not Done correctly it will look like a white bull eye right off the bat and can go badly real quick for most,Don't get me wrong (I do highlight when needed ) but as for an everyday look for an average Joe it can look over the top and it is one of those looks you REALLY need to be skillful at and lately from the highlight trends I've seen even around the Brows it's looking really Bad indeed and hope it catches on that this form of application is not flattering when it's not up to par and needs to be left for the Pro's and what is expected for TV,Film,Stage.I Don't or should I say Not a Fan of the Brows almost touching in the front if that makes sense The UNI Brow draw on to close together in the front and when that happens it's as if to make up to how close together the brow is drawn in the front they make the arch high at the middle of the eye as if that would make it better but in fact it looks misproportion.I could go on Gabriela lol and I'm not even sure if this is answering your question but I gave it a go. :) When it comes to makeup and application I could just rant on and if I could really give my True honest opinion on looks I would probably be known as the Simon Cowell of makeup lol But that's How deep my passion goes and willing to help another improve. :)

Don't use super glittery blush with glittery highlight. contour powder with shimmer is a don't. do use lip liner after applying lipstick. do always use moisturizer and don't ever go to sleep with makeup on :)

Do whatever you want because makeup is a form of self expression lol. I understand some things aren't flattering to certain people but it doesn't mean nobody should do it! Makeup is about experimenting and having fun :3

Don't worry so much, what you might find a flaw, might be beautiful to someone else (recently had this experience with my brows).

I agree with the no rules statement to a certain extent...
The Mcdonalds eyebrows shaving them off and penciling them in is a major don't. Ladies stop over plucking and shaving the brows. Brows give your face character they are there for a reason.

I'm confused by the answers to this thread or this could just be a misunderstanding but I believe Gabriela just wanted the general do and don't of makeup as in your own application or on another if it's what you do.Gabriela is a well establish makeup artist and I think this was all for thought process,I feel like this subject took a turn.

Lmao @ shadows using pixie dust.. ha!.
for me I think, do remember to think outside of the box and rem that makeup is art and the bottomline is what it looks like once complete. I had to remind myself of this as one can get wrapped up in books and instructions from others n loose your own artist side to create newness.. do create new-ness! ;-)
don't, look a hot mess because its in!. lol. whatever that means to you. I wing point out any particular application techniques as to not offend the masses. but I play by my own beat. and I think.everyone should.
not sure if I answered the question correctly but that's just my take.. ;-)

Lmao velen, you are too funny.
you don't like Kim k's Mua? or did I miss a specific look she did recently.
I don't follow those girls. lol.
and yes, someone created those looks. from thinking outside the box. just because someone told you thus brush is for foundation, doesn't mean you have to use it for that if it works for something else. I'm just saying.. let's your creativity rule..
