Okay: leave the heat on 358, I believe it is. I use it upside-down, actually. So the curl is smaller as it gets to the bottom. Use thin pieces of hair if you want tighter curls. I hold it on mine for about 10 seconds, and my cousins as well, but we both have thick hair, so adjust it to however you think it will hold. Just play with it a bit. :) that's what I did.

I have this as well. I also use it upside down. I hold the wand in my right hand to do the left side of my head and vice versa. I twist my hair around it, away from my face and hold for about 10 seconds then let the curl slide off. I love it. it makes my hair really shiny and the curls hold pretty well.
