I would get a crease brush, blending, smudge, and full shadow brush to use all over the eyelid...

Eco tools and real techniques to start with and once you are comfortable start using more brushes from Mac or IT cosmetics.

Real Techniques Starter Kit brushes http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod3220081. Also a brush set can be good. My first brush set was from Coastal Scents. They're actually having a 40% off sale right now. These are the brushes http://www.coastalscents.com/brushes/sets-and-cases/br-set-011.html.

I also recommend coastal scents. I got the 22 piece brush set a few years ago and I still use it. They're soft and if you take care of them they last a long time.
