So people.. I want new makeup brush set. I don't know wether or not to spend more then usual.I've had the ones I've got now for far to long. Better quality with more money? Real hair.. Or fake.
How much does your set cost. Would you recommend it? Thanks :) xx

I personally have the BH Cosmetics 24 piece brush set. It's synthetic, but very good. The bristles don't fall out, and they're dense enough to pick up the right amount of product without causing a lot of fallout. I actually really like them. Also, BH Cosmetics has a ton of sales, all the time. I think I got my set on sale for $25 or something. Right now the most expensive brush set on the entire website is mine (for $25), which is on sale for 30% off or something. They're having a huge sale right now.

Quality over Quantity! Look up reviews on brands of brushes on different sites, don't invest too much in cheap brushes like elf, they won't last too long. Natural hair is good for powder products, synthetic is good for liquid/cream. I've seen good quality sets for over $400 it's probably best to buy one at a time and build your collection. :)

I believe in splurging when it's necessary- on brushes, it's necessary.
Brushes will make or break how your overall makeup looks.
Elf: I've tried almost the entire line but I only have 2 brushes that have yet to be duped by higher end brands
Flawless concealer and mineral powder brushes
Sigma: I have two sets, basics and professional- I use them all but only because I have a lot of them.
The small domed contour, the large eye shader and small blending brushes are my favorite
Real techniques: I just got the face and eye sets and the stippling brush- the buffing and contour brushes in the face set are awesome as well as the eye contour and shadow rushes in the eye kit- I can live without the stippling brush, it's very prickly
MAC: if you're going to splurge without going bankrupt I definitely recommend MAC brushes
My absolute favorite brush from any brand ever is the MAC 219 pencil brush- it's just fabulous for precision cut crease and smoked out liner
Also the 185 I think- the short duo fiber is great for smaller areas and buffing in foundation
The white blending brush is awesome to shadow but also for airbrushed concealer application
This is my little blurb on brushes :)

Very informative Carolyn! I needed that info myself. I had a post yesterday questioning a set of cheap brushes that I bought my daughter as a stocking stuffer. when she opened them I practically wanted them for myself because how good they felt. I bought them for her for play but I wonder how good they really are. the brand is Satina..?

All the brushes I have are Real Techniques, Sedona Lace & Coastal Scents, Crown Brush & this set I got from eBay that a popular company on Instagram also sells. I have a few ELF brushes but reach for them every once in a while. I have the face & eyes set from Real Techniques, the 32 piece brush set from Coastal Scents & I have the Vortex & 12 piece kit from Sedona Lace.

I highly recommend Sigma brushes. Brushes are something that you want a good quality on, and you will get great quality brushes at Sigma. Mac and Sigma brushes are extremely similar, but sigma are slightly less

Sedona lace and morphe brushes don't get enough credit. The quality is AMAZING and they're very affordable in my opinion. SL usually has 50% off on Black Friday and I always buy some brush sets. Take the time to look into reviews or videos if you're going to invest money!

Real techniques are my fav. I have elfs too but liked none. I love the Real Techniques buffing brush but I hated the stippling brush, looked very streaky. I love the contour brushes that came in the kit I got.

Jacqueline thanks for getting back to this post, your information is always amazing and professional. Going to check out all the ones you girls have recommended :) excited to get a new set, but I think I might build up my collection a few brushes at a time, then I can spend more :) xx
