Either a lighter foundation or concealer and darker concealer.

I was wondering the same actually and I love how the guy does it..

Try a contour/highlight powder, a foundation or a concealer. Make sure for the highlight, the product is 1-2 shades lighter than your skin, and the contour shade is 2-3 shades darker.

Use a light concealer, dark bronzer, and highlighter

No^ don't use bronzer if you don't know what you're doing. It's very hard to find a matte, cool toned bronzer that won't make you look orange and muddy. Stay away from bronzers.

I agree with Hannah it should be a foundation 2 or 3 shades darker than you... Or a bronzer stick EM cosmetics has a good matte one.

There's a contour palette from Anastasia.

I actually do use a bronzer to do this the one from benefits do you think that would work?
Dec 27, 2013
Hannah K.
The Hoola? I mean...I just think that people misunderstand the purpose of bronzer, in this case. Bronzer is to give the skin a sunkissed glow, not to create shadows. There are products specially formulated for contouring. In theory, yes, bronzer could be fine, but that's really not what it's for.

What brushes do you use in creating the look?

I use bronzer to achieve this look and it works flawlessly. I use the Too Face Chocolate bronzer and it doesn't make me look orange or muddy at all! I suggest to look it up on YouTube! & I personally do think it would work. Most of the gurus on YouTube will tell you so as well :)

Bronzers are not for contouring purposes. At all. Like Hannah said, bronzers are used to give you a glowy/sun kissed look. May bring warmth to your face but what you're looking for is 'shadows'. Shadows are not ORANGE.
Highlighting/Contouring can be done with concealers, foundations, and powders.
Samer Khouzami is one of the very best at this. In my opinion. It looks like he used concealers to do this.
Most of the time the highlight is 1-2 shades lighter thank your along tone.
(I do it lighter because I like my makeup to look borderline drag.)
The contouring has to be darker obviously. Something with a grey tone...
All of this has to be blended seamlessly to achieve a very chiseled face.
You can use CONCEALERS, FOUNDATIONS, & POWDERS to H/C. Either before foundation or after. It takes a bit of practice to be able to really achieve an have the whole idea down. (Talking from experience, still practicing)
Ms Jackie can give you a better lesson on this. She taught me lol

Yeah that one..but I attempted at doing it... lol I don't know that bronzer was suggested on hear to do it so you got it.. but Hannah I kinda wanna do it how you said but I don't wanna go and spend that much money in doing so.. can I use drug store products? or do you suggest any products that would work..

Sarah, I'm sorry but I've learned that "YouTube Gurus" are all full of crap most of the time. They get sponsored. Maybe some bronzers are "ok" but that's not what bronzers are for, period. Bronzers are orangy. And may look worse when they have shimmer.

Stephanie, most of my looks are done with drugstore makeup. You can either buy foundations, concealers, or powders 2 different shades. One light for high kiting and the other for contouring.
I personally h-c before and after foundation.

For my contour I use Milani face powder. It like 3+ shades darker than me. I just blend. I use Mary Kay bronze600 to contour my face.
Blending is key.

Can I just get 2 shades darker? And can I use a beauty blender to blend or does it have to be a brush? I have brushes but what would be better?

Taylor G.
So do you h/c after regular foundation?
Dec 27, 2013

Samer has a YouTube channel but of course it's in Arabic he has done it in an interview on a model.

I'm now stalking this post lol.

Lol yes, 2 shades darker is fine. That's what I personally like. A beauty blender would work better with wet products not powders. But yes the beauty blender will give you a well blended finish. I on the other hand use brushes. I feel like I can push the product farther out and have more control of it.

Hmmm I guess I'll try it with the brushes and the beauty blender see which one I like the most. (: thank you love 😊

Taylor, you can do before or after or both.
