NYC carries a beautiful red! It's called retro red and it is very true to its name! On the plus side it's only a dollar so it's worth a try!

I absolutely love Sephora's matte cream lip stain In 01. It's the perfect creamy blue based red and it's only 12 dollars. Plus it smells delicious!!
