I have a lot of nail polish, but it all chips. Should I splurge or save on some new ones?

Get a good base & top coat... That should help chipping

Use a good top coat, such as Essie or Sally Hansen :-)

you can also help this by prepping the nail with scrubbibg a cotton ball with dehydrator or alcohol on the nail. this will remove any dirt or oils from the nail to give the polish a clean surface to stay on.

Before painting your nails or even putting a base coat on, put some pure acetone on a paper towel or a cotton ball and rub it on all of your nails. It will remove the natural oils from your nail that makes your polish chip. After that just apply your base coat, polish, and especially a good top coat. I have a review on a few top coats on my blog.

I'm a nail tech and if you seal in the ends of the free edge by pulling the brush along the edge it helps slow chipping time as well as prep, base and top coat as suggested :)
